Visitor can visit Bhutan either by air or by land. Paro is the only international airport in Bhutan. Currently, Drukair is the national airline and the only airline flying into Paro international Airport.You can enter Bhutan by air from following sectors:
India – Calcutta, New Delhi, Mumbai, Bodghaya, Bagdogra and Guwahati
Nepal – Kathmandu
Thailand – Bangkok
Bangladesh – Dhaka
Domestic air service was launched on 17th December 2011 and now tourists can travel to central and eastern Bhutan by air. Tashi Air and Drukair are two companies that provide domestic air services. At present, there are two domestic airports located in Bathbalathang (Bumthang), Central Bhutan, and Yongphugla (Trashigang), Eastern Bhutan. However, another airport in Gelephu (Sarpang) is under construction, which is expected to become operational in 2012.
